Terms of Service

These are the rules for using Rankd. By creating an account you agree to them.

You must be 13 or older

Rankd is not for children under 13. We check your date of birth at signup. If we find an account belongs to someone younger, we delete it.

If you are under 18, we expect a parent, guardian or coach to know you are here.

Your account

Keep your password to yourself, and use a real email address you can access — you need it to confirm your account. One account per person. Do not sign up as somebody else.

You are responsible for what happens on your account.

Log real numbers

This is the whole deal. Rankd is only worth anything if the numbers mean something, so:

  • Log results you actually achieved. Do not inflate them.
  • Do not vouch for a result you did not see. Vouching is how a number earns a higher verification tier, and a vouch you did not witness makes every tier meaningless.
  • Do not create extra accounts to vouch for yourself or to move your own ranking.
  • Do not upload a clip that is not yours, or that shows someone who has not agreed to be filmed.

We remove entries and close accounts for faking results. There is no warning system for this — it is the one thing the product cannot tolerate.

Treat people properly

Most people here are minors. Do not harass, bully, threaten or sexualise anyone. Do not post anything hateful, violent or explicit. Do not contact another athlete who has blocked you.

You can report a clip or a user from the app. We review reports and remove what breaks these rules.

What you upload stays yours

Your clips, photos and results belong to you. By posting them you give us permission to store and display them inside Rankd, to the people your privacy setting allows — nothing more. We do not license your content to anyone else, sell it, or use it in advertising.

Delete your account and it goes with it.

Rankings

Rankings and scores are calculated from the numbers logged, within your sport, position, age band and location. We may change how the calculation works as the product improves. A ranking is a description of logged results — it is not a judgement of anyone as an athlete, and it is not a recruiting decision.

Where a pool is too small to rank fairly, we say so rather than inventing a position.

Paid plans

Rankd is free to use. Some features are on a paid plan. Plans renew until you cancel, you can cancel any time, and cancelling stops the next charge rather than refunding the current period. If you are under 18 you need a parent or guardian's permission before paying for anything.

Closing accounts

You can delete your account whenever you like, from Settings. We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, particularly for faked results or for how someone treats other users.

The legal part

Rankd is provided as-is. We work to keep it accurate and available, but we do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we are not liable for opportunities won or lost on the basis of a ranking.

These terms are governed by the laws of Alberta, Canada.

Changes

If we change these terms in a way that affects you, we will tell you in the app rather than quietly editing this page.
